Chalet
A small chalet on a wooded slope, reached by a single lane. A stone base holds the hill; timber above it keeps the house light and warm, and the roof is pitched low to the weather.

The windows are placed for the evening: low sun across the valley, a lamp on in the living room, a path of stairs rising from the road.
We wanted the house to look as though it had always been there, and to be kind to the trees around it.
